Show - Don't tell

I had just sat down in the grass, the cool tendrils felt wonderful after the long walk across town. All I had to do now was wait for her to show up, and all that walking would pay off. The sun was beating down, and the breeze finally gave up to the overpowering heat wave, making just waiting for her hard work - seeing as there was no real shade to take cover under in the entire park anyways.
Finally I saw her coming around he corner with that huge glowing smile on her face, but she wasn't alone like she had promised. I knew the guy that was walking with her, and when I tried to stand up I noticed huge chunks of grass pulled up along with my hands, plus I hadn't been sweating up until now, even with the sun blaring down on me. My eyes felt all buggy and I could tell I was glaring semi-ferociously when they walked up to me and that smile of hers turning almost instantaneously upside down.

  4. Very nice, written extremely well. You make it very easy to picture the scene because of the details. I like how you worded the part with the grass, it's great.
